Adventurer 5M Pro vs Bambu A1 — which should I choose?
The 5M Pro ($449) is fully enclosed with HEPA filtration — better for home environments and occasional ABS printing. The Bambu A1 is open-frame but benefits from Bambu's vastly superior software ecosystem, multicolor AMS compatibility, and a much larger community. If enclosure and filtration are priorities (children, classroom, office), choose the 5M Pro. If you want the better long-term ecosystem and multicolor potential, choose the Bambu.
Can the Adventurer 5M Pro print ABS reliably?
Yes, with caveats. The enclosure helps retain heat for ABS, making it more reliable than open-frame printers. However, the chamber is not actively heated — it passively traps heat from the print. Results are good for smaller ABS parts but large prints may show layer separation. The nozzle maxes out at 280°C, which is sufficient for ABS but not the highest-temp engineering filaments. For consistent ABS results at scale, an actively heated chamber printer like the Qidi Q2 is more reliable.
Is the Adventurer 5M Pro a good classroom printer?
Yes — it is one of the better consumer printers for educational environments.
